Teaching methods with Comprehensible Input
In this chapter, we explore several teaching methods based on the principle of Comprehensible Input. These methods are designed to promote language acquisition, with an emphasis on creating an environment that facilitates this language acquisition. Comprehensible Input is often primarily associated with TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling), but there are many other methods based on CI. Moreover, TPRS is not that simple and it takes time to master. Here are examples of teaching methods based on the CI approach.
- TPRS
- Picture Talk
- Clip Chat
- PQA (Personalized Questions and Answers)
- Story-Listening
- One Word Image (OWI)
